To make it easier for you to communicate with your colleagues in the same language, here’s a quick communication guide:
◼️ Most work-related communication happens in public channels: this way, important details don’t get lost and the team stays in the loop. Save direct messages for memes and personal questions. 🙂
◼️ If you don’t understand something — ask.
◼️ If you disagree — bring arguments and your own solutions to the problem.
◼️ We value our and others’ time, so we prepare an agenda (discussion points) for every sync (meeting). Share it with your colleague before the meeting.
◼️ We don’t raise our voices, get personal, or insult each other – toxic communication is not acceptable.
◼️ Fast response time is very important to us. During working hours, the expected response time is up to 15 minutes.
◼️ We provide an ETA when receiving a task and request it when assigning tasks to the team. We also stick to the given ETAs. If we can’t meet a deadline, we come back with an updated ETA.
◼️ We write follow-ups after every meeting so we have a record of all agreements.
◼️ We don’t criticize publicly. If you have feedback — you’re welcome to share it in private or one-on-one.
◼️ If our working schedule changes (or differs from the general one), we align it with the manager, notify the whole team, and reschedule important meetings.
